A quick note about the coming week

I misspoke in class on Friday when I said we’d have workshop time on Wednesday. The calendar shows that it will be Friday, and it’s the calendar that is correct.

That said, of course, the sooner you get started on your essays, the better. And we can certainly spend some time hashing out ideas on Wednesday afternoon if enough people would find that helpful.

Office hours on Friday, September 27th

On Friday, September 27th, I will need to cancel my office hours due to a conflicting meeting. It’s possible that this same conflict may come up a few more times during the semester. If it does, I’ll be sure to alert you.

As always, you’re welcome to make an appointment with me if scheduled office hours don’t work for you.

Of possible interest: Church and the City

This fall, Justice Education is teaming up with Campus Ministry to offer a one-credit experiential course titled “Church and the City.” The course provides students with the opportunity to learn firsthand about issues related to immigration, and includes an immersion weekend (November 8 – 10).

There will be information sessions on September 5 and September 10 for those who’d like to know more. See the course information flier for more details.

Justice Fridays: August 30

I now have more information available about “Justice Fridays,” which I mentioned in class this morning. The first session will be this Friday from 12:15 – 12: 45 in Room F of the Student Center (it’s downstairs, and you’re welcome to bring your lunch). This week’s discussion will focus on gender justice, and will be led by two Saint Mary’s students.

There’ll be a Justice Fridays discussion each week that there’s a home football game at Notre Dame, so look for future meetings on Sept. 20, Sept. 27, Oct. 4, Oct. 18, Nov. 1, and Nov. 22.
